Stop Your Nail Biting Forever!!

(Forum posting on January, 15, 2004; reproduced here verbatim)

"I received the book a few days ago, read it in its entirety, and started the technique right away. I just have to say THANK YOU Mr. Brown!!! It is nothing short of a miracle. It not just the technique itself, but the background information that is written about the habit that is so valuable. I have not bitten my nails even once in three days. That seems like a short time, but for me it is a record. I can't believe it was so simple and yet so effective. After I read the book I was a little mad because I thought, "I actually paid for a book to tell me this?!" But then I started it, it worked immediately, and now I think that is a very small price to pay for such freedom!

I have been a 24 year sufferer of this habit (I am 30 right now) and my nails have been bitten down as far as they will go. They were so short that I had to start a new habit: peeling the layers of my nails until my nailbed bled. I have had many complications such as getting nail pieces stuck in my teeth, in my gums, and in my throat. I have also had infections on my fingers and in my gums. Also, since I am a scientist, nail biting is not just a bad habit - it can be highly dangerous what with all the chemicals that I work with. I was all but hopeless, having tried everything from bad tasting hot pepper polish, bitter cremes, weekly manicures, acrylic nails, and bandaging my fingers. The only time that my nails grew was when I was ten years old and I could not reach my fingers because my arm was in a cast; they lasted a matter of hours before they were torn and chewed off.

This post may be premature, but I am confident that I will be able to keep this up, knowing what I know now. I will send the before and after digital pictures in a few months. I can't wait to see my long, long nails!

If you are having doubts about buying this book and you are trying to get more information from reading posts on this forum, all I can say is, "just by the book!!" In my opinion, the background (i.e., the secondary habit) is more important than the technique itself, so just knowing the technique will probably not help you anyway.

Just one more note: I was not even that motivated to stop my nail biting habit. I just thought that I "should", so I bought the book. The knowledge and the technique that Mr. Brown provides is THAT powerful."
